Emulsified & Cutback Asphalt Testing
Emulsified asphalts and cutback asphalts use emulsifying agents and water, or petroleum solvents, respectively, to liquefy the asphalt for use in roads or other construction projects. Both types of asphalt reduce viscosity in low temperatures and are most often used in tack coats, fog seal, slurry seal, and stabilization materials.
Emulsified Asphalt
Gecan tests almost any type of emulsified asphalt, including anionic, cationic, non-ionic, high float, and polymer-modified emulsions. Tests are performed following ASTM D 244 and AASHTO T 59 standards.
